Intro - 9th June 2019

We're all going on a summer holiday......

Well, just my wife (Jean) and me. Despite our advanced years, neither of us have ever been to Majorca, so as it's pissing with rain in Blighty, now seems a good time to get some sunshine and visit a place that gets talked up quite a lot.

Booked a two-centre holiday with our favourite travel agent, Trailfinders, some while ago. We fly out to Palma at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, 11th June from Gatwick with Easyjet, returning early afternoon on Friday, 21st June.

First stop is the Hotel Hesperia Mallorca Villamil in the capital Palma for 4 nights. We are hiring a car so that we can have a proper look round the island. Palma itself looks very interesting.

The next stop is the Hotel Finca Son Palou in the mountains on the north coast of the island for 6 nights. All looks fab.

We are fortunate that a local railway line will take us all the way into Gatwick Airport. We did look at flying from Luton, which is geographically closer, but the flight times were dreadfully uncivilised!

Well, I suppose I'd better start packing now.....
